Unable to enable Pega Gen AI Autopilot

Hi everyone,

I’m currently using Pega Platform version 25.1.2 and trying to enable GenAI AutoPilot

I followed this documentation:
:backhand_index_pointing_right: Enabling Pega GenAI AutoPilot

As per the doc, I should be able to see “Assistive authoring with GenAI” under:

App Studio > Settings > Configurations

However, I’m unable to find this option at all. Am I missing any prerequisite or configuration step here?

Hi @PoojaPalla

I see that you have been following the document to enable the Agentic AI features in the Knowledge management Framework, Could you confirm whether you are attempting to enable the AI features in the Knowledge Management framework or within your existing Pega Application

This is for enabling the AI features in your existing Pega Application for reference - Pega GenAI Autopilot in application development

Thanks,

Thanks for raising this — this is a common point of confusion.

“Assistive authoring with GenAI” is part of the Knowledge Management framework, not a global application‑level setting. To my knowledge the option appears only when all of the following are true:

  • The application includes Pega Knowledge and is configured for Knowledge authoring

  • The instance is Pega Cloud and licensed for GenAI Connect

  • You are enabling GenAI within the Knowledge Management configuration, not a general application configuration

If you are looking to use GenAI Autopilot for application development, that is a separate capability and does not surface under Knowledge settings.

The safest way to think about this is:

  • Knowledge GenAI features → configured under Knowledge Management settings

  • Application GenAI / Autopilot → driven by Blueprint import and application creation flows

If you can share whether this is a Knowledge use case or an application development use case, the community can help you pinpoint the exact configuration path.
