Elastic Search vs PEGA internal search

During the product evaluation, we would like to decision if Elastic Search is required or not. May I know the following:

  1. PEGA can be install without Elastic Search?

  2. What PEGA features are different with & without Elastic Search?

  3. What additional search if installed Elastic Search? Can provide document search?

** We are using on-premise version of PEGA with Kubernetes version. (should be client managed cloud, not using PEGA cloud).

** Target with PEGA version 23 or 24
