"23 or '24 is the major version of Pega infinity/CDH?

Patch naming convention

Beginning with Pega Infinity '23, release names are prefaced with the year of release, followed by the minor release designation, and then the patch designation.

e.g. 23.1.2, 23 is the year of the release, 1: minor version, 2: patch version.

Compared with the previous naming convention, is '23 or '24 same as major version?

Can you please make the clarity on this to better understand Pega release/patch plan? We are told CDH does not support migrating artifacts between environments on different versions. Is there any best practice on how to upgrade CDH along with Pega platform? Dev team did this manually during the previous minor version upgrade. Can you please advise more and shed more lights on it?

@JamesL42

24 is a minor upgrade. You can check the datapage D_pzSystemInformation inside where pxBuildMajorVersion is 08 and pxBuildMinorVersion as 24.

@SohamM95 Thanks for sharing the information. Does it mean P’23 is still the minor version, and it is actually 8.23.x, and 8.24.x? How do we know the major version if it is coming in the future?

@JamesL42

Yes 23 is still a minor version. You can check the official patch calendar here of upcoming infinity versions. Regarding major versions, I don’t think there is any official roadmap links available unless Pega specifically advertises its release.

@SohamM95 Thank you so much! That is really helpful to understand the release plan Pega has published nowadays for the minor release version only. Hopefully you can share the information with us regarding the roadmap of the major version as we will need to plan ahead.
