VMWare Settings for Pega LSA 8.8.2 Linux Lite VM for better Performance

Purpose/Issue-

As part of Pega CPLSA mission challenges we can execute the solution on VM instance 8.8.2 Linux Lite VM. i had downloaded VMWare workstation 17 for Non-commercial use in Windows 10 64 bit.

when i installed it and set the loaded the ova file LinuxLite-Pega882 . My PC was almost having Zero Performance , no screen was loading and everything was stuck.

My PC configuration was as below, i had 8 GB ram and core i5 processor.

when i initially setup the VMWare settings for LinuxLite-Pega882 i had set RAM as 8 GB and Cores to 4 in the VM settings.

Solution-

I had reduced the loaded VM settings LinuxLite-Pega882 set RAM as 6 GB and Cores to 3 which resolved performance issue and slowness , hope this helps to everyone

Note - as per pega recommendations below are required configurations to setup VM
Minimum 12 GB RAM free for the VM to use (in addition to that required by your host) and At least 25 GB of free disk space.

Hi. If you have minimum of 12 GB then VM will work with a considerable slowness, else it will not work.

@SriHarsha Anika Yes that’s true, with less than 8 GB it works but with slowness. i had tried the mentioned approach for VM Workstation and Oracle Virtual Box was able to launch but has slowness

what is the default password for [email protected] I tried, install, install123!, rules
nothing worked

@DeepakS8743 refer this article it has similar issue and also suggested password

@LondheGS with 8 GB over the time as the work progresses it will even degrade. it’s not a recommended configuration.
