We are going to upgrade pega in our environment to a higher version, and we want to ask if there is a difference in requirements (such as OS, Jboss, DB, etc) between pega version 8.7 and version 8.8? please itemize the difference.
is there any documentation that we can get? or any ideas and suggestions?.
Thanks for your response,
I asked a question related to response from Gaurav Sharma , maybe you can help provide answers or ideas related to my question?
@RizkyW08 You asked about the meaning of the OS being ‘Deprecated’.
We do not state that the windows os is ‘…unusable in pega version 8.8’ but simply that deprecated features in Pega 8.8 Platform are still supported when the product is upgraded, but their use in new development is not advised.
We are deprecating some of the operating systems, and most of the application servers, as Pega Infinity is moving toward a Docker container on Kubernetes deployment only. See Externalize services in your deployment
No new client applications should be deployed on Windows. NOTE: Clients with existing Pega applications on Windows will enter Extended Support in version 8.8.
Pega provides hotfixes for Pega applications in a release stream as long as Pega is maintaining patches for that release stream as defined in the Pega Extended Support policy. Your Pega application must be on the latest Pega Platform and Pega application minor version to receive a hotfix. To find required hotfixes for your Pega application, refer to the application hotfix table below.
The websites of Platform Options vendors may contain additional information about how they work with other hardware or software options on this list. If vendors state a particular combination will not work or is not supported, that combination will not be supported by Pegasystems.
