Hi,

Is there a way to show a popup with a warning message on click of submit which comes as a default button ?

I don’t think there is an OOTB way of achieving it as of now.

You cannot directly attach a pop-up modal trigger to the default Submit button. However, depending on your exact requirement, you can try one of the below patterns to achieve a warning/confirmation experience-

  • Assignment Step Instructions / Guidance Callout: If the goal is simply to ensure the user is warned about critical implications before they click Submit:
    • open the view configuration for your current assignment and add a Guidance / Warning Callout or Instructional Text directly at the top or bottom of the View (immediately above the Action Footer)
  • Confirmation Step / Two-Step Flow Assignment: If the warning requires explicit user acknowledge or review before final processing:
    • Split the process into a two-step flow in Case Designer and the case advances to a dedicated “Confirm & Review” assignment screen displaying the warning message prominently with summary details.
  • Custom Action / DX Component: If business logic strictly mandates an overlay/modal dialog pop-up upon clicking a button:
    • Hide the Default Action Footer, Add a Custom Button or Component and Configure the button to launch a Local Action or Modal View containing your warning message and an explicit “Acknowledge & Complete” button inside the modal.
    • Alternatively, if using the Constellation React SDK, use a lightweight Custom DX Component leveraging useModalManager from cosmos-react-core to trigger a modal overlay before invoking the submission API via pConnect
