Pega Robotics Chrome Extension missing in Chrome browser

I’m having the same issue as this discussion thread “pega Robotics Chrome Extension not available in Chrome browser” (pega Robotics Chrome Extension not available in Chrome browser | Support Center).

I dont see any resolution there though its closed. Can someone please let me know how to bring the extension?

I had the Chrome extension initially but resulted in the system being really slow until i removed the Chrome extension. Now that I need it again, trying to get the extension back - I have tried uninstalling Pega, reinstalling it with Chrome extension using the installer, and also using the command line to install the extension. Nothing seems to bring the extension in the browser.

To install the Chrome extension from the command line;

  1. Close all instance of Chrome running.
  2. Open a command prompt and change to the directory where you installed Studio, Runtime, or the Plug-In for VS 2015. In my case with the Plug-in, my path is; C:\Program Files (x86)\Pegasystems\Pega Robot Studio Plug-In
  3. Use the following command (once you have changed to the Studio or Plugin directory); OpenSpan.WebExtensionInstaller.exe Chrome -i

After you install the extension, you must enable it by opening your browser. You should receive a prompt asking if you want to enable the extension. You may also enable it by navigating to the extensions settings in Chrome.

If you are experiencing issues with the extension, I urge you to open a support request so that our team can examine your machine and resolve the issue.

@ThomasSasnett Thanks for your elaborate reply. I had tried all these steps. But was unable to bring the extension back.

Finally what worked is dragging the .crx file from “C:\Program Files (x86)\Pegasystems\Pega Robot Studio Plug-In\BrowserExtensions\Chrome” onto Chrome browser and then restarting Chrome.

I now have the extension. But my system is slow again. I’ll start another thread for that issue.

@SreejaP3444 Dragging the crx file into your browser is not a suggested approach. I suggest that you open a support request and someone from our support team can look at your system to see what is going on. I would open the request for the slowness issue and mention that you had to drag the CRX file to get the extension installed and enabled. They will of course correct that first and then can examine what you mean by slowness and determine what that issue might be.

@ThomasSasnett Sure will do that. Thank you.
