While upgrading Pega CDH application from v7.2X to v8.6 , can we upgrade pega base prpc v7.2X directly to v8.6 and then we proceed with CDH upgrade from 7.2x to 8.6 or do we need an interim upgrade step , where we upgrade the base PRPC to some intermediate version, then bring the CDH to that intermediate version and then continue to upgrade to final 8.6 version.

@GOWRISHANKAR Thanks Shankar. I have gone through this article and I understand that a direct upgrade is possible, however , i am u able to find a guide for the same. I have only been able to find one which is a guide for 7.2x to 8.4.
Can you suggest some alternative?

There are some pre-requisite steps that should be completed before upgrading Pega platform to 8.6. The platform upgrade is listed as step 23. The pre-requisite steps are listed at the beginning of the upgrade guide: Pegasystems Documentation
Reviewing both the guide I provided and the appropriate platform guide before beginning the upgrade is recommended.
