Effect of Primary Fields on Insights

Primary fields determine which columns are available by default when exploring an object’s data and displaying it in a table. The built-in behavior works as follows:

  1. If no primary fields are defined, the insight displays an OOTB table that includes a column for every available field in the object.

  2. If one or more fields are marked as primary, the insight displays an OOTB table that includes columns only for those primary fields.

This behavior is consistent for both Case and Data objects.
