Create stage not processed when run from app studio

I’m working on the final project in the 8.6 system architect mission (https://academy.pega.com/mission/system-architect/v3/exercise/in/24071).

When I attempt to create a case from app studio, the first step in my create stage doesn’t show up. Instead I see a form box with a header “New [Case Name]”, a cancel button with no text, and a “Create” button. If I click create, I get an error that says “No flow action chosen.”

Here’s the weird part: If I create the case while in Dev Studio, the step loads as it should. I’m losing my mind. Please help.

@McKayH25 Hi McKay, I logged onto your system and I am able to create a rental reservation case, so I am assuming you were able to work this out?

@eddie.jm No I was not. For work-related reasons, I’m creating the application from a pega instance on my company’s VM. Whatever you were looking at was not my project.

@McKayH25 run that case type again from App Studio, then go check the logs - there will be an error that will give us something to work from

p.s. the system I reviewed is the one registered to you through Pega Academy - unless someone is using your account :wink:

@McKayH25 Hi McKay, your local VM is not configured to work with the training app. For example, there are a lot of failed calls to pegacea.net, and a lot of security events.

I recommend using our training environments as they are proven to work without any additional configuration needed on your end.
