Will Pega provide any wizard to import Organization specific ERD? We have a Organization specific Data Model represented in a ERD. If I have to import it to create the required Data Objects to use it in my Application, what’s the suggested approach? Do I need to extend the out-of-the-box application and create our own to import this ERD? Please provide your thoughts. Thanks!
@Jey2705 You can use blueprint to import your DDL and refine the data objects as per need. You can evaluate the existing objects in CDM and see if it fits your core needs. If yes,then while importing blueprint,you could select built on application as Pega Common Application and inherit(if you want to go for class specialization) or resuse the data objects from CDM.
Thanks @mohas19 for your response. That’s helpful. Will try it out. Also can we use this newly built app for CDM for UI-Kit applications as a built on application to refer to these new Data objects to be used in the Implementation layer?
@Jey2705 The data model all data objects,data pages will work for you in UI kit as well. But the data portal which is available in Pega common app to manage the data objects from the ui is built on constellation. You wouldn’t be able to use that for non constellation apps
Hi @mohas19, I’m trying to import the Pega Common Application from “My Software” but not getting the option. I see from other forums that it gets shipped with Industry specific frameworks. But I don’t have those listed in “My Software”. Is there any process to get the zip file to import?
