Attachment view from data records

We have a Bulk case type to create data records. A user attaches a document/attachment to the case which is used as a guidance document to create the data records via that bulk case instance. When viewing data records via the landing page, the user would like to access the attachment which was attached to the case which created the data records.

We tried creating a field of type “case reference” in the data type to refer to the case which created the data records. Assumption was that the field will give us Preview/Open functionality allowing us to open the case but it does not work.

Any idea on how to achieve this in Constellation without a DX component.

@Salil - seems like you found an issue here. thanks for sharing. @NAQUS do you have any ideas here?

@SrinivasKakani , @Salil : This is display of the case reference objects in insights / tables as links to preview and open the object is something that is not yet supported. In the upcoming release, we have addressed this in insights.

@NAQUS Is this fixed in v25.1

@Salil apologies, I sent you down the “Data > Preview a Case Reference” path on your post last week. Wasn’t aware there was no preview from a data context.

I’ve just been experimenting, given Constellation has semantic URLs to deep link to a case, you could use a URL field to show this?

The above is Insights. As we know, List View and Insights have different capabilities. If you go the List View or Form View route, then you can control the display of the URL to be something a little nicer too.

I don’t have a '24 version on hand, but from memory this kind of URL shown as label was available then too, so you should have this option available to you.

@MarcCheong Ok will explore this. Thanks

@Salil : My bad, I should have mentioned the release clearly. This is fixed in the upcoming release for 26. Its not available in 25.1
