Summary of the Event

This webinar was designed for those new to Pega and Constellation, as well as those looking to understand how to leverage the out-of-the-box features to build powerful user experiences quickly. We covered a range of topics, from the fundamentals of getting work done in Pega to handling complex data and processes. Our goal was to demonstrate how to achieve business outcomes by starting with Pega Blueprint and embracing the Constellation design system, rather than getting caught in the “Figma Fake-Out.”

Key topics included:

  • An introduction to the Constellation design system and its benefits.
  • A walkthrough of the key components of a Pega application, including landing pages, case pages, and the full case view.
  • Techniques for managing and processing multiple pieces of work simultaneously using features like preview panels, inline actions, and bulk processing.
  • Best practices for handling complex data capture with tables, modals, and galleries.
  • Strategies for dealing with process variations using optional actions, promoted actions, and conditional visibility.
  • Tips for making tables more user-friendly through sorting, filtering, grouping, and personalized views.
  • An overview of creating tailored experiences for occasional users with self-service portals.

Key Differences Between the Sessions

While both sessions covered the same core content, we had different presenters from our global team, which led to some unique perspectives and examples.

  • Session 1 (APAC/Europe): This session featured presenters Aditi, Andreas, and Sravan. The Q&A session focused more on topics like the differences between traditional UI and Constellation, handling external data, and the impact on testing strategies.
  • Session 2 (Americas/Europe): This session was presented by Anthony, Agnese, and Pumulo. The audience was a broader mix of roles, and the discussion included more about the “Figma Fake-Out” and the importance of starting with Blueprint.
