Virus Scanning of Uploaded Files & different options

Hi All,

We have requirement to perform the virus check while uploading the different documents into the PEGA Application.

Please clarify the following queries:

  • What are the OOTP options available from Pega?

  • Is CallVirusCheck OOTB activity supports to the virus scan? This activity is placeholder with Exit activity and commented Java step in V7.4?

  • Do we have any enhancement related to CallVirusCheck OOTB activity after PRPC v7.4?

  • There is an enhancement request defined to provide a working example of this (FDBK-20857), Is this going to the hotfix provided from pega, which can reused for the virus check? Or it will be steps to configure the CallVirusCheck OOTB activity supports?

  • Do we have predefined specifications provide for Virus scan?

Any Suggestions?

I checked the status of FDBK-20857 (Virus check for files being uploaded) and it is still open.

There are no OOTP options available from Pega. There was the following update for 7.3 : Ensure CallVirusCheck is called only after populating data in UploadedFilePage

Please use the suggestions given in Sample Code for CallVirusCheck. question.

Also see callVirusCheck Activity Implementation

I will check to see if a working example might be included in future versions, or in documentation, similar to Extension points and supporting rules for attachments

@Mr.Sachin no update on FDBK-20857. Please liaise with your Pega AE if you require to discuss this further.

@Mr.Sachin @SVAQuest I have attached a document with steps which will hopefully help you implement your VirusScan functionality .

This will be included in our official documentation in one of the next Pega 8.8 iterations, in the Security book.
