Im using virtualbox version 7 and Pega ova file 24.2. Can anyone help me how to launch pega url outside virtual box? ie from the browser of local machine.
When i used VMware it was quite easy, but here seems it is tricky.
I found some articles, but those are atleast 3 yrs old.
@Denny Varghese In VirtualBox, open Settings for the Pega VM, go to Network, and change Adapter 1 to Bridged Adapter so the VM gets its own IP on your network. Start the VM, log in to its console, and run ip addr or ifconfig to note the VM’s IP. In your host browser, hit http://VM_IP:PORT using the port Pega shows on the VM console, often 8080 or 8443. If it does not load, check the guest firewall and allow inbound on that port, and on Windows or macOS allow your browser to reach that IP. If Bridged is blocked in your environment, keep NAT and set Port Forwarding so Host Port 8080 maps to Guest Port 8080, then browse to http://127.0.0.1:8080. Make sure Pega or Tomcat is listening on all interfaces, not just localhost, or use the NAT forward as above. Avoid Host-only unless you specifically want access only from the host and not the wider network. After it works, reserve the VM’s IP in your router or switch to keep the URL stable.
