Upgrading platform to 8.8 without upgrading Sales Automation running on it (keep that 8.7)

Hi,

We have a stack containing Pega Platform 8.7.x, Pega Foundation for Insurance 8, Sales Automation 8 (rulesets 8.7) and Sales Automation for Insurance 8 (rulesets 8.7)

We are considering upgrading the platform to 8.8, and for time being leave the rest of the stack as is. Later on upgrade the Sales and Insurance stack to their latest versions.

Question we have: is the Sales and Insurance stack of an earlier version supported on a later version of the platform? Or is there some requirement to keep them aligned?

It is best practice and recommended approach to upgrade strategic applications ( Sales automation) , while upgrading Pega platform. Having said that, strategic applications in old version should work fine in latest Pega. However these combinations are not tested and certified by Pega. Also incase of issues, Pega support may not be able to help.

Hence it is recommended to upgrade strategic applications as well.
