Updating existing translations in App studio does not work in Pega 23

I am unable to update an existing translation pack, followed the below steps in App studio

  1. Export translation pack for a specific language

  2. After adding the translated value, import it back

  3. The translation pack status has changed to Resolved

  4. Delete the same translation pack

  5. Now export translation pack for the same language

  6. Add the translated value for additional fields, import it back

  7. Upon checking the UI, newly added field labels in 5 are still in English

Any suggestions on how to update the translation pack after first time?

@Ronali

Can you please let me know if your application is built on Constellation or Theme Cosmos?

@RameshSangili it is built on constellation

@Ronali

The steps seem to be correct. If the updated values are not reflected based on your update, then I suggest creating a INC ticket to troubleshoot the issue

@Ronali

There was a Pega bug reported in 23.1.1 version where “Whenever we import an updated localization through the app studio localisation tool, the updated values are not reflected”. This issue has been fixed in 23.1.3 patch release.

@ArchanaKawde

We have tried in Pega Community Edition 24, localization does not even work for the very first time, hence we are unable to confirm.

@Ronali please clarify what Infinity 23 version you were originally testing.

If the BUG @ArchanaKawde is referring to is “Constellation localization deployment has no effect” (BUG-865981) , then I can inform you that it is due to be fixed in the upcoming Patch Release of Pega 24.1.2, coming out in September.

Note that Patch Pega 23.1.3 is not due out until the end of July.

If you are on Pega 23.1.2 then please log a support ticket via the MSP and request HFIX-B1723 if you cannot wait until the end of the month to test the fix.

If the issue is BUG-865979 ("Constellation appstatic server sync for Localization issue") then this is already marked as fixed in Pega 24.1.1. Please make sure that is the version you are using.

@MarijeSchillern

Thanks for your clarification. It makes clear why things are not working as expected, as our dev is in INFINITY-23.1.2 and the community trial edition is in INFINITY-24.1.0.
