Ui Kit support lifetime

Hello,

We are moving to 8.7 soon, and we still haven’t migrated to Cosmos.
we have a lot of custom UI, complex business rules, and the cost vs value of moving to cosmos as of the upcoming two years, is not justified yet. Basically we are happy with what we have as of today.

  1. So the question, is what is the most accurate assumption for the long term support of UI kit?
  • 5 years?
  • 10 years?
  • for as long as pega stay a living product?
  1. will there be a point in time where the upgrade of the platform will be linked to the upgrade of cosmos?

@erahal Please see the answer in this PCC question from a year ago. The answers are still valid today.

@erahal Most of the Pega Apps as well as the studios are relying on the section-based UI architecture and UI-Kit - there is no plan to remove the UI-kit layer in the upcoming minor releases and at least until all the Pega Apps have been migrated to Cosmos.

When a new major version of the Pega Platform will be released (Pega 9.x for example), some of the deprecated features might be removed - Announcements will be shared once this situation happens.

the Final patch version and Extended Support dates
is 8.7.6, July 1, 2023 - January 31, 2025

Can we assume that it is a concrete date is Jan 31st 2025?

@erahal yes - the last patch version for 8.7 will be in Jan 2025
