The main Navigation Panel expand on actions where it shouldn't

We are currently using an iPad 9 and have observed that the main navigation panel expands when certain actions are performed. This issue occurs on the Secure Mobile Browser – BlackBerry Access on iPads; however, it can also be replicated in Safari on the iPad when the “request desktop site” option is selected.

Does anyone have experience with Blackberry Access browser and Pega? As that browser is not officially supported, the Pega support could not help Pega Platform client operating system and browser support

As we cannot send images from our environment, I will demonstrate this by recreating the problems in a Pega Academy Course Overriding Case Urgency | Pega Academy which is using Theme Cosmos, same as our environment.

Recreating the Bug:

Initialize Pega instanze in Pega Academy Course Overriding Case Urgency | Pega Academy.

Launch the Portal and create some Cases, then mark them as favorits.

Test 1

  1. Opening the Case from My work list doesn’t expand the Main Navigation Panel

  2. Opening the Case from the Table “Items I follow” by clicking the ID will expand the Main Navigational Panel

Test 2

Pressing any of these circles also expands the Main Navigational Panel

But for the cogwheels, you need to dismiss the Modal to make the Panel expand:

It is not clear if the issue you are encountering is only occurring on the Pega Academy VM - please can you clarify?

Are you confirming that you are using an unsupported platform stack?

For an overview of supported mobile operating systems for major Pega Platform™ versions, see Mobile operating system and browser support.

As it sounds like you are wanting to report a product defect, please replicate the issue on a supported Mobile device, and use the MSP to log a support incident.

Please provide the INC id here so that we can help track it.

@AxelB17205360The issue with the navigation panel expanding unexpectedly on iPads may be caused by unsupported browsers like BlackBerry Access or Theme Cosmos’s responsiveness on touch devices. To fix this, update Theme Cosmos to the latest version, as older versions might have bugs. Check for any custom JavaScript or CSS that could be triggering the panel expansion and modify it to suppress unnecessary behavior. Ensure your Pega configurations for elements like “Items I Follow” or modals are correct and avoid using “Request Desktop Site” in Safari, as it can alter responsive behavior. If the problem persists, use a supported browser like Safari in mobile mode. For a long-term fix, file a detailed bug report with Pega, including the steps to replicate the issue and the environment details
