Studying for CSSA exam - any tips for passing the exam?

Hello all. I am coming back to Pega development for a new role soon and will be studying for the CSSA exam. A few years ago, I took the exam three times and failed all three times (scoring a 68 twice!).

For those who have passed the exam, especially if you cleared the 70 score by a large margin, what did you do to study effectively for the exam? I will be using Pega Academy again. My biggest struggle is test question prep - the questions on the exam are harder than the practice exam at the end of the CSSA path on Pega Academy. Any other tips though would be appreciated!

Hi, best wishes for getting started!

From my experience, Pega Academy and PDN are the best resources for preparing for the certification.

While preparing, don’t just look at the answers of the challenge exercises. Try to understand the approach as it will help you answer scenario-based questions in the exam.

During the exam, read every question carefully before choosing an answer.

Wishing you all the best for your CSSA exam!

Thanks. I will need the luck haha! I think this forum will help too. I love this new Community feature they have.

What is the PDN?

Pega Community documentation or knowledge base

Yes, the exam questions turn out to be more on scenario based, and practical use cases. Try to go through the Full course again as revision and focus more on the lab activities. Some are trick questions, changing words here and there, so mind them- they can make youquickly jump from 68 to 70. All the best!

Thank you Ajay!
