Smart Disputes: Extended Timeframe (120 days up to 540 Days)

Does Smart Disputes support the submission of disputes where the transaction is between 120 days and 540 days (Page 61 of the Mastercard Chargeback Guide).

@JamieSchuman

Hi Jamie,

The general timeframe for chargeback submission is 120 days from central processing date. However under certain conditions chargeback can be submitted beyond 120 days up to 540 days. Just as an example if the goods were scheduled for a delayed delivery and cardholder never received the goods on scheduled date. In this case the timelines are from scheduled delivery date even if this exceeds 120 days timeline from Central processing date. Such scenarios are supported by Smart Dispute.

The chargeback guide has a version every 6 months, so please indicate the page number 61 referred from which copy of the guide as it differs. If there is any particular scenario of concern we can respond for the same.

Rakesh

@varmr Hello, the reference is to the December 7, 2021 Guide. To confirm, in any valid scenario (as outlined in the MC Guide), chargebacks submitted beyond the 120 days is supported by Smart Disputes?

Thanks,

Jamie

@JamieSchuman

Hi Jamie,

Yes any timeline beyond 120 days as specified by MC specifications is supported in Smart Dispute.
