Rule Authoring in Pega - GenAI

Objective

The objective of this POC initiative is to enhance and streamline rule authoring within the Pega Platform by leveraging GenAI to translate business intent into executable rules with greater speed, accuracy, and consistency. These capabilities extend the out‑of‑the‑box Blueprint experience and aim to reduce manual development effort while improving alignment between business requirements and implemented logic.

GenAI‑Enhanced Rule Authoring Capabilities### 1. Create Rules for Automation and Decision Tasks

This mechanism analyzes the imported Blueprint to identify Automation and Decision steps that were not generated by the Blueprint wizard. GenAI then produces suggested rules for user validation and creation.
Ideal for: Filling gaps where Blueprint did not generate the required rules.

2. Create a Rule by Providing a Rule Description

This capability allows a user to author a single rule by supplying a concise natural‑language rule description. GenAI interprets the requirement and renders a preview of the rule for review and refinement.
Ideal for: Creating one rule at a time based on a specific requirement.

3. Create Multiple Rules from a High‑Level Scenario

Users can provide a broader user story or high‑level business scenario, and the system generates a cohesive set of required rules — such as data transforms, decision logic, reports, or supporting assets.
Ideal for: Generating multiple related rules during early design stages or rapid prototyping.

Hi Das, I am happy to be part of your PoC…let me know if you need some help…Cheers!

Thanks Chunzhi for showing interest. The Rule component is developed and published. Please go through the Marketplace component and we can discuss about how to scale and socialize
Pega GenAI Studio: Create, Modernize & Analyze Rules Effortlessly | Pega

Ajit - This is a really interesting component , we have been trialing it (specially rule generation and update) . Results are a bit mixed bag , is there any learnings you can share on share on the the of instructions/prompts to use to improve rule generation/update accuracy.

Thanks Kaustav for trying this component. The key here is to use the best practice for the Prompting to make the LLM deliver the expected result. This is very generic and has nothing to do with Pega. If you can tell me which feature of the component you tried and what sort of details you are looking for, may be I can be more helpful.
