Requesting for Hazelcast Latest version details

Hello Team,

We are planning to upgrade Hazelcast services in our Pega platform, and are looking for the latest available version to check and upgrade accordingly. The current version we have in the platform is 1.3.18.

Please provide the latest available Hazelcast version.

Thanks

Below comprehensive information about Hazelcast versions that should help with your upgrade planning.

Hazelcast Version Information

The latest public version of Hazelcast is 5.5.0, which was released on July 26, 2024. However, for Pega platforms specifically, the latest recommended version is Hazelcast 5.2. This version is officially recommended for all current Pega Platform versions and is supported until the vendor’s end of support in Q4 of 2025.

Clustering Service and Hazelcast

I noticed you mentioned version 1.3.18 in your email. This refers to the Clustering Service Docker image version, not the actual Hazelcast version. For Pega Platform versions 8.8 and later, the Clustering Service Docker images (1.3.x series) contain Hazelcast 5.x.

Here’s what the Pega documentation indicates:

  • For Pega Platform 8.8 and later, use Clustering Service Docker image version 1.3.x (containing Hazelcast 5.x)
  • The specifically recommended version is 1.3.3 or later
  • Hazelcast v5.2 is the recommended Hazelcast version for Pega platforms
  • Hazelcast v5.1 is also supported (but not the latest recommended version)
  • Hazelcast v5.3 is listed as “Anticipated” with “Certification in progress”

Important Notes

  1. Pega licenses Hazelcast for use only with Pega Platform, and it’s important to use the Pega-provided Hazelcast distribution for optimal compatibility.
  2. You cannot modify the Hazelcast version in the Docker image as Pega packages Hazelcast in the Clustering Service.
  3. Older versions of Hazelcast (v3.12, v4.1, and v4.2) are deprecated and have reached vendor end of support in Q2 of 2024.

To ensure you have the most up-to-date version, I recommend contacting Pega Support for access to the latest Clustering Service Docker image, which should contain the recommended Hazelcast version (5.2).

Thanks for providing the details . Yes , we use Hazelcast Clustering service 1.3.18 version. I see below statement from the details.

“For Pega Platform versions 8.8 and later, the Clustering Service Docker images (1.3.x series) contain Hazelcast 5.x.”

  1. You cannot modify the Hazelcast version in the Docker image as Pega packages Hazelcast in the Clustering Service.

Can you please share the latest version of the Hazelcast clustering service that comes with the packages for the Pega Platform 8.8 later.

Thanks

@LakshmiD17322402

For Pega Platform 8.8 and all subsequent releases (including 24.1 and 24.2), the following Hazelcast versions are available:

  • Hazelcast v5.1: Fully supported until vendor end of support in Q4 of 2025
  • Hazelcast v5.2: Recommended version

These Hazelcast versions are provisioned in the Pega-provided Clustering Service Docker image version 1.3.x (latest) for Pega Platform 8.8 and later.

It’s worth noting that older Hazelcast versions (v3.12, v4.1, and v4.2) are now deprecated across all recent Pega Platform versions, with vendor end of support having occurred in Q2 of 2024.

Also, in Pega Cloud environments, Pega automatically configures and maintains the Clustering Service with the appropriate Hazelcast version, requiring no additional action from users.

Hi Team,
We are checking the versions for Pega and their components which are vulnerable. The current version of the Hazelcast Clustering docker image version in our system is “1.3.9” and we have Pega Infinity v24.2. Can you please share the latest version of the Hazelcast clustering service that comes with the packages for the Pega Platform.

Thanks

@LakshmiD17322402 please go through the documentation provided earlier:
