pySendEmail Queue Processor - Kafka max.request.size Configuration

Hi,

Has anyone successfully configured the OOTB pySendEmail Queue Processor to handle email attachments larger than 5 MB?
In our environment, emails with attachments larger than 5 MB fail with:
RecordTooLargeException: The message is larger than 5000000 bytes, which is the value of max.request.size configuration
The queue item is moved directly to the Broken Queue and does not reach the Queue Processor topic. Our Kafka topic is already configured for 15 MB.
What is the recommended Pega-side configuration to increase the Kafka producer max.request.size for Queue Processors? Is there a supported DSS/property for this, and does it require a node restart?
Thanks in advance for any guidance.

This is a known/ defined configuration in Pega Engine, where underlying Kafka producer client for QPs enforces a client-side max.request.size limit (defaulting to 5 MB), which rejects outbound message payloads containing large email attachments before they reach the Kafka broker topic.

Can you try creating or updating a DSS -

owning ruleset: Pega-Engine
name: prconfig/streaming/producer/max.request.size/default

Set the value to your target max size in bytes and restart the server.
