With Infinity ’26, Pega Mobile introduces a major step forward for offline capabilities in Constellation mobile apps. In this release, Pega Mobile is introducing long-awaited capabilities that let you create a complete, offline-enabled mobile app. Let’s explore them!
UI Unification
With the latest Infinity release, Pega mobile apps now use the same UI version as the web experience, creating a single, unified experience across both channels. This also enables support for advanced UI customization in mobile apps.
Custom DX Components
You can now use your custom DX components in mobile applications, even while offline. This gives you another way to tailor the mobile app experience to your needs. To learn more about custom DX components, visit the public GitHub repository: https://github.com/pegasystems/constellation-ui-gallery.
Case Progression
With the latest ’26 release, you can now progress through your cases while disconnected. Let’s explore this step by step:
- Save for Later
First, you can save your assignments to pause your work and continue whenever it is feasible. - Submit Assignments
Second, you can now submit your assignments while offline. You can get your job done from start to finish without an active network connection. - “Pending Sync” Status
What about situations where your workflow must connect to the internet? Pega mobile apps support this scenario. Whenever you run into this type of situation while disconnected, the app creates a special, local-only “Pending Sync” assignment. You can still view the case data, but progression is paused until you reconnect and the data is synchronized. This means you don’t have to modify your workflows to be fully offline-enabled - you can enable only specific parts of them for offline use.
CRUD Attachments Support
Attachments are essential for typical offline use cases. With the ’26 release, you can create, read, update, and delete attachments using the Attachment field type. Pega mobile apps automatically synchronize your data with the Pega server.
Sync Status Visibility
Speaking of data synchronization, the Sync Indicator has been updated to leverage native operating system notifications. You now have better visibility into the progress of your data as it moves to the server.
Referenced Data Support
But wait, there’s more! With the latest Pega release, you can leverage the full spectrum of supported field types, including referenced data. This includes user, data, and case references, embedded data, and queries, expanding what your workflows can handle while disconnected.
Data Validation
Last but not least, support for data validations has been introduced. Because offline workflows still depend on accurate data, you can now help ensure your offline data remains accurate too. There are two ways to configure data validations in your offline-enabled mobile app:
- While configuring your View, on the Conditions tab.
- In your Flow Action, under the Validation tab, leveraging the “[expression evaluates to true]” function.
Conclusion
As you can see, Pega has been busy! The latest Pega ’26 release adds our most capable offline experience yet, helping you bring more of your workflows into disconnected environments. Try it out and let us know what you think!
