Pega Knowledge Buddy - Attachment in data source

Hi,

I am trying to use Pega Knowledge Buddy to get information based on an attachment I uploaded, but I get no results. This was tried on a Pega Cloud Instance of the challenges in Pega Knowledge Buddy mission.

I followed the below steps:

  1. A new Category called Attachments is created in PEGA Knowledge app.
  2. A new Content type called Attachments is added from Configurations-> Content types.
    It is marked as active and “Article type is an attachment article only” checked.
    “Attachments” taxonomy is selected in “Allowed categories”.
  3. A new content is created from Knowledge-> Content with the attachment.
  4. Content is published after approval.
  5. New category is added as a Data source of a buddy.
  6. Buddy is tested with only “I don’t know…” answers.

Apart from PDF files, I tried with PPT files too.

What I saw in db was that the chunks were not properly created. Is there anything we need to take care of? I understood the platform would automatically do it.

@S.Porres Hi Sergio. I believe the most probable cause to be that the practice environment from the Pega Academy mission aren’t using the latest Buddy build. We’re in the process of updating them and I hope that will solve the situation.

@S.Porres Hi Sergio, just to confirm the update was completed. I was able to index a simple, text only pdf during my testing so I believe everything should be ok. On the Academy challenge page, please click Reset Pega Instance and then request a fresh instance to make sure you will be working with the new version of the practice environment.

Also please keep in mind there is one extra step needed when you create the taxonomy, you need to add Knowledgebuddy:Public as an authorized role.
