Kafka Image bitnami goes to paid offer

Broadcom company has recently communicated a migration of their free tier image to more secured repository. With this migration, some docker images like bitnami kafka may move to paid catalog offer.

Wthi this announcement , we may have some trouble to update kafka version related to pega version . in our case , we are on client cloud.

Is there any alternative to bitnami kafka for free ? or do we have information that bitmani kafka image still remain free access and download ?

Regards

Below are the kafka image options we have considered in our client-managed cloud setup. Would they be of any help?

  • Strimzi Kafka Operator → Open-source, Kubernetes-native Kafka deployment with CRDs and full lifecycle management
  • Redpanda → Kafka-compatible, single binary,good for low-latency workloads
  • Apache Kafka Official Image → Maintained by the Apache community, available on Docker Hub

@RaviChandra Does it have helm deployment chart with those solutions ?

Broadcom recently announced that Bitnami images, including Kafka, are moving from free community access to their secure paid catalog. This means you may not be able to update or pull the latest Kafka Bitnami image for free anymore. As an alternative, you can use the official Apache Kafka Docker images from Confluent or Apache’s own repositories, which remain free. For Pega, you don’t need Bitnami specifically any stable Kafka image that matches the supported Pega version should work, as long as it meets the same configuration requirements. If you are on client-managed cloud, you can switch to Confluent’s community images or build your own Kafka image based on the open-source distribution. Broadcom has not confirmed that Bitnami Kafka will remain free, so it’s safer to plan for migration now rather than wait until access is blocked. This avoids issues with version updates and keeps your Pega-Kafka integration stable.

@Sairohith Htank for information but as i said we’re lookinh about helm chart also for deployment because we’re on client cloud managed
