Is this DSS 'declarative/enabled' only related to BIX concept?

As per BIX user guide, for better BIX performance, they have suggested to create below DSS rules with below values.

compatibilty/BIXUseOptimizedClipboardXML = “true”

compatibility/BIXdisableForwardChaining = “true”

declarative/enabled = “false”

compatibility/BIXdisableBackwardChaining = “true”

So in these 4 DSS, we need clarity on 3rd one whether it is related to only BIX or entire declarative rules of the application.

Hi @KiranmaiK

Do you have any thougts on this @kishn1

Please find the BIX Document Business Intelligence Exchange User Guide

I hope this will help you.

Thanks,

Ashok

@Bhumireddy

Hi, thank you for the reply.

I have gone through this document and no where it is clearly mentioned that this DSS will impact only the BIX extractions but not the regular rules.

When we posted this in other platform, it mentioned as below.

"The PEGA-RULES!DECLARATIVE/ENABLED setting in Pega is specifically applicable to BIX (Business Intelligence Exchange), and not directly to declarative rules in the broader sense of the application. This setting controls the behavior of declarative processing during BIX data extraction, not during regular Pega application processing."

Need clarity on this.

And also in the screenshot that you attached above, there is a note for the same DSS that we need to Use this setting when you are running BIX from command line. We are running the extract rule using a job scheduler activity in which output file comes in CSV format and pipe as delimiter. So please explain.

Thanks
