Integrating JIRA with Agile Workbench in Pega can provide organizations with a robust project management solution, but there are some challenges that can arise. One common issue that you may encounter when using JIRA integration in Pega is the misalignment of status translations between JIRA and Agile Workbench, especially with regards to non-English language settings. This can cause problems when attempting to map statuses, leading to issues with the accurate tracking of project progress.
As a update on the Pega’s Jira integration component I’ve created an additional ruleset with a number of modifications forcing the JIRA API to use English as the common language. This ensures that the statuses are properly aligned and can be accurately mapped, even in a multi-language environment. As a bonus I’ve also included a few pre-set mapping examples, making it even easier for users to properly map statuses between JIRA and Agile Workbench.
No changes have been made to the Jira Integration component itself. Just install and configure it following the manual. Second, apply these updates by adding the ruleset to your DEV application as you would normally do with any other ruleset. The rules in this ruleset will automatically override the settings in the Jira Integration component.
