Getting No Data-Admin-DB-Name error while creating case type in Pega Infinity '23

Hi All,

I’m getting the following error when trying to create a new case type in Pega Platform Infinity '23.

The following DB instances are currently available for Data-Admin-DB-Name in my application.

I’m trying to create this casetype in a shared Pega VM system.

Any pointers as to how to rectify this issue are highly appreciated.

TIA

@MaleeshaW you can create case types when using Pega on a shared VM. The process of creating case types does not depend on whether Pega is installed on a shared VM or a dedicated server. However, you need to ensure that you have the necessary permissions and resources on the shared VM to create and manage case types.

The error you’re encountering is due to a missing or invalid Data-Admin-DB-Name instance for the ‘pegarulesreports’ database. This instance is required for Pega Platform to access the database. It might be that this instance is missing, corrupt, or not properly configured in your system. Please check your system’s database configurations and ensure that a valid Data-Admin-DB-Name instance exists for the ‘pegarulesreports’ database.

Try this, add following entry to your prconfig.xml file (and restart the app server)
