I have an Insight as a table with a data page that is sourced from a report definition. I am not given the option to Export to Excel for the Insight. Is there additional configuration required?
I’ve also confirmed that the option “Allow querying any column” has been checked for my data page.
Hi @DaveFinley
Hope this helps
Even if “Allow querying any column” is checked, the “Export to Excel” option won’t appear in Insights if it’s built on a Dpage instead on a report definition. This is because Pega may block export for complex or parameterized Dpage. In Constellation apps, UI limitations or missing permissions can also hide the option. Maybe you can try this- try creating the Insight directly from the report — if export works there, the issue is with the data page.
Yes, Export to Excel option would not appear for those data page sources. Currently, the source must be backed by a Report Definition to be enabled for Export to Excel.
Hi @PoojaPalla and @RameshSangili thanks for the replies. I may have misstated my configuration, apologies. I do have a report definition as the source for my data page and then the Insight is sourced from that data page. This is a supported configuration for Insights.
What I was missing was my Insight was only configured for ADMIN access. Once I re-created it and made it Public, or even with Private as an option, I am able to see the Export to Excel option. Thank you again for the input!
@DaveFinley Hi Dave, We have a similar requirement too and we have created insight from a datapage backed with report definition. However, by default the visibility is set to Admin and we are not able to choose other options like public or shared. Could you please let us know how did you recreate the insight with public access? Is there any additional roles/ accesses missing ?
