One thing I’ve been thinking about lately as everyone races to build AI agents…
The value isn’t just in having an agent that can answer questions or complete tasks. The real value comes from giving that agent the right context to make the right decision.
In an enterprise, context is everything.
It’s understanding where you are in the workflow, what business rules apply, who is allowed to approve something, what policies need to be followed, and what has already happened in the case. Without that, an AI agent is missing a big part of the picture.
This is why I get excited about platforms like Pega.
AI isn’t operating on its own, it works alongside workflows, decisioning, business rules, and governance. That means organizations can move faster while still maintaining the security, compliance, and guardrails the business expects.
To me, that’s where enterprise AI becomes truly powerful.
It’s not about replacing people with agents. It’s about giving agents enough context to make better decisions, automate the right work, and know when to bring a human into the loop.
As more companies start adopting AI agents, I think this will be one of the biggest differentiators. The organizations that win won’t necessarily have the most agents they’ll have the agents with the best context. What do you think?
