Q&A
Q1: Branch management & deployment issues
Asked by: Srikanth Lavu
“After merging changes in OpsMgrRM, the branch in BOE is getting deleted. Is this expected? For new CRs, should developers manually create the branch and branch ruleset? Also, does this require an open ruleset version every time? The pipeline shows deployment as successful, but the ruleset is not appearing in the Development environment. What could be causing this? The Deployment ID is not available for deploying to the next test environment, causing the pipeline to fail. How can we ensure the Deployment ID is consistently generated and passed forward ?”
A:This multi-part question was answered live by Alex Burt during the session. In short: the branch deletion behavior is expected - the merge API in the Development environment deletes the branch by default. To retain branches in the BOE, configure product rules to prevent the overlay application from being repackaged on every run. The product rule defined on the Business Change Pipeline is probably packaging the overlay application from Dev. This needs to be avoided. Please see how to configure the product rule for business change pipelines at Creating a business change pipeline.
Q2: Activating for all users after test activation
Asked by: Aswin Kurella
“If we keep activation for test users how can we activate later for all users?”
A:(Alex Burt) — You can do this within the Revision Management UI. See the official documentation for step-by-step instructions and screenshots:

Q3: Live deployment and active user sessions
Asked by: Karthik Balla
“Would the deployment to LIVE handle automatically when an end user is already logged in to the system? Or do we need to ensure they are logged out and log back in for the changes to take effect?”
A:This was answered live by Alex Burt. The key point: when a deployment updates an access group to a new application version, the end user must log out and log back in for the changes to take effect.
Q4: Why create a new enterprise application for every deployment?
Asked by: Satish Nayunipati
“Why create a new enterprise application for every deployment? Can we just go with a new ruleset, like a normal Pega Platform application, instead of a new entire application version?”
A:(Alex Burt) The new application version is required to enable the Test and Activate functionality in Deployment Manager. More detail and context:

Q5: Alternative learning sessions for Pega CDH
Asked by: Aswin Kurella
“Do we have any sessions like this for Pega CDH building apps and similar for learning, instead of Academy?”
A:This was answered live by Alex Burt and Tihomir Petrovic. The speakers pointed attendees toward CDH enablement webinars and the upcoming PegaWorld event for more advanced showcases. A written list of recommended resources will be shared in a follow-up post.
Q6: AI agents vs. case lifecycles
Asked by: Aswin Kurella
“Can’t we use an AI agent instead of a case lifecycle here, given we’re now i n the AI world?”
A:This was answered live by Tihomir Petrovic. The session touched on the emerging concept of “agentic operations” a direction where AI agents may eventually manage case lifecycles autonomously. The team is actively exploring this space, and it’s on the roadmap for future discussion.
