Robot Manager version support

Hi ,

Currently we have Robot Manager 8.4.2 version on PEGA Platform 8.4, and soon there is a PEGA platform upgrade happening as well from 8.4 to 8.7. Wanted to know few details on Robot Manager as well.

  1. Does Robot Manager 8.4.2 version support PEGA Platform 8.7 ?

  2. As Pega Platform upgrades to 8.7 version do we need to upgrade Robot Manager version from 8.4.2 to 8.71 ?

Hi @VarunK69,

Robot Manager is aligned to Platform from version 8.4, Every Platform major release (Not patches) has its Robot Manager equivalent. If you update Platform to 8.7 you should also update Robot Manager to 8.7.

Thanks @AngelHermira, this helps us to plan accordingly.

  1. Currently we are using RM for managing RDA users only, so if we upgrade only PEGA Platform to 8.7 with RM 8.4.2 on it, will it still work or there would be an impact with managing RDA users. ?

  2. When we upgrade RM to 8.7.1 , the RDA authentication mechanism setup on RM 8.4.2 will have to be reconfigured ?

@VarunK69 , We cannot guarantee that RM 8.4 will work on Platform 8.7. It is likely that you find issues. You should use RM 8.7. The authentication mechanism should work regardless of the version you update to. You may need to review the service package after the import to re-apply any current authentication customisation you have in place but after that everything should work as it is working today.
