Recommendations for Automated Code Review using GenAI in Pega 24.2.4?

Our team is currently looking into implementing an automated Code Review process using GenAI capabilities. We are currently working on Pega Platform version 24.2.4 in our DEV environment.

We recently came across the Rule Review Tool listed in the Pega Marketplace, which looks like exactly what we need for automated rule analysis and AI-powered recommendations. However, according to the marketplace listing, its compatibility is strictly specified for Pega Platform '25.1.1 due to the agent rules architecture.

Since upgrading to Pega 25 is not an immediate option for us, we would love to get your insights on the following:

  • Alternative Solutions: Are there any workarounds, backports, or custom configurations available to leverage this tool (or a similar GenAI code review mechanism) within Pega 24.2.4?

  • Community Experience: Has anyone successfully implemented an automated code review workflow using GenAI features on Pega 24.x? If so, what approach or components did you use?

  • Best Practices: Would you recommend waiting for a full platform upgrade, or is there a viable intermediate path to start testing these AI capabilities in our current version?

Any guidance, documentation, or shared experiences would be highly appreciated!

Agent Rules are introduced as part of 25.x version. In 24.x, we had Gen AI connect rules only. We need to pass the relevant data sources for the Agentic AI to make decision which is available ONLY from Agent rules. As this is Marketplace component, please check with the developer who built the component for any backward compatibility to the previous version.

The GenAI Rule Review Tool depends on Agent Rules, a feature only available starting in Pega 25.1.1. Since Pega 24.2.4 only supports Gen AI connect rules, it cannot supply the data access the tool needs to function. The best step is to contact the Marketplace component’s developer directly and ask if they offer a version compatible with 24.2.4.
