we are planning to upgrade the pega version for our application from 8.5.5 to 8.8 initially. But got to think on the Infinity’23 as an option since it gets additional support time from pega. The question here was we already had another application FieldService upgraded 8.8.
Is Field Service 8.8 compatible with Pega infinity’23
If it is compatible, Is Infinity’23 stable enough to upgrade in production.
Any responses on the similar experience is helpful.
Hi, As you know, Infinity 23 is latest, Pega 8.8 is just one step back (let’s assume), It’s not advisable to go for Infinity 23 unless you have very clear view and knowledge on it over 8.8.
Of course, Infinity 23 is a latest version and needs time for it to be stable as per my knowledge. If you compare, 8.8 and before versions, 8.8 is very stable one. You’ll need to find such similarity before jump into Inifinity’23 directly.
Note: My Comment was based on Pega Products Landscape experience of mine.
@Kishore Sanagapalli Thanks Kishore, We also in the same dilemma as the version(23) is bit new. we are thinking of the Infinity upgrade due to the pega support for the versions. For 8.8 pega will support till end of 2025 and for infinity its till 2026. If we go with 8.8 then we have to plan for upgrade in next 2 years again. But your real time experience will help us in deciding. Thanks again.
Also if you carry out a PSC key word search or view our Support Docs you should be able to find all Install and Upgrade Roadmap documentation on the Pega Support Center.
Apart from Pega Support, You also need to think and get the complete details about infinity 23 too.
In Pega, Version upgrade for bug fixes / improvements is common. At this point, Since Infinity 23 is new, Very few customers might be started to adapt. So, Plan it careful accordingly.
Most Important things, Check the Version changes, Feature wise discrepancies with your LSA’s though Ohly and plan it.
