Pega Monitoring and Simulation testing tools (Pega Agility tools)

I have a few implementation questions for running of Simulation and monitoring tools found in Pega for my company. The tools we are considering for simulation testing and monitoring are below:

Value Finder, action performance, scenario planner, impact analyzer, distribution test, audience simulation.

The questions are below:

  1. Are any of these tools good to be tested or executed on Production environment?

  2. What is the sample size of the audience for these tests? The Pega documentation says 100K - 500K but does any smaller size make sense?

  3. What are the ways to get a sample of the production data into the BOE environment beside installing the migration pipeline?

  4. Which of these tools (or are they all) show the current production behavior ? Which tools show both current and future performance?

Thank you!

It is not recommended to run Pega simulation or monitoring tools like Value Finder, Scenario Planner, or Audience Simulation directly in Production, as they can use a lot of system resources and affect performance. These tools are better suited for a testing environment like BOE. While Pega suggests using 100K–500K customers for better results, you can also use smaller sample sizes like 10K for quick checks, but results may not fully represent real behavior. If you don’t want to use the migration pipeline, you can move sample data from Production to BOE using BIX exports or external data tools, making sure the data is secure. Tools like Action Performance and Impact Analyzer show how things are working now in Production, while Scenario Planner, Value Finder, Audience Simulation, and Distribution Test help you test how things might work in the future
