Pega Infinity Studio and Pega AI Assistant

Designing an application and building one have tended to be two different experiences. Pega Blueprint is good at the first: you describe the business problem and you get a credible application design that stakeholders can react to. Turning that design into a working application then meant moving to a different environment — in fact, to either of two, App Studio or Dev Studio, depending on what you were trying to change.

Pega Platform 26 brings that together. Pega Infinity Studio is a single, unified workspace for designing, configuring, and debugging an application, and it carries the work from Pega Blueprint directly into the build. Inside that workspace, Pega AI Assistant lets you describe what you need in everyday language instead of configuring it by hand. Taken together, it is less a new feature than a new center of gravity for how applications get built.

What it means

Pega Infinity Studio replaces App Studio and Dev Studio. There is one workspace now, and it is where Blueprint work arrives rather than a separate destination you export to. The Implementation Plan tracks the work generated from Pega Blueprint as a set of tasks, so the design arrives as a plan of record rather than as a document someone has to interpret and re-plan.

Pega AI Assistant is the conversational layer over that workspace. Someone building a solution describes what they need in natural language, and the Assistant does the configuring.

The detail that matters most is what the Assistant produces. Pega AI Assistant creates governed, model-driven Rules — the same configurable building blocks the platform uses everywhere else — rather than application-specific code. This is what makes the output reviewable: it is the same kind of Rule a developer would have created through a form, and it is subject to the same review and the same guardrails as everything else in the application.

What it does

Three benefits follow from bringing the design, the build, and the Assistant into one place.

  • A faster path from Blueprint to a working application. The Implementation Plan tracks the work generated from Pega Blueprint as tasks, so teams move from prototype to build with less manual planning in between.
  • A lower barrier to building. Work happens in natural language in a single workspace, so people who are newer to Pega Platform can become productive sooner — there is no need to know which environment a particular change belongs in before making it.
  • Enterprise AI with approval controls. Pega AI Assistant keeps its changes in a separate Branch, an isolated copy of the work. Merging those changes into a shared work branch requires explicit approval, so nothing the Assistant produces reaches the wider application until a person decides it should.
