Pega deployment Manager support for on-prem Pega installations

Hi Team,

Pega is deployed on-prem in our organization and we are using Pega deployment Manager 5.6 currently. I understand that PDM 5.x will reach end of life support in September 2025 and support will end in September 2026 as per Migrating from Pega Deployment Manager 5.x to PDM as-a-Service (aaS) | Pega

Would you please suggest what is the strategy for on-prem Pega installations using PDM 5.x.

Hi Hari,

as per the documentation,

Starting from September 30, 2025, the Standard Support period for Deployment Manager 5 on Pega Cloud ends. As a result, existing Pega Cloud clients that are currently using Deployment Manager 5 enter the Extended Support period. During the Extended Support period, you can expect continued support from the Pega Support team. After September 30, 2026, clients using Deployment Manager 5 will reach End of Life status and will no longer receive support.

The effects to you are as follows:

Pega Cloud
- Deployment Manager service is the standard and best solution, available exclusively on Pega Cloud, and is designed to deliver a modern, integrated CI/CD experience with enhanced best practices and integration. - You are encouraged to plan an update to the Deployment Manager service that is available on Pega Cloud 3.

Client-managed cloud or on-premises setup
- You can continue to use Deployment Manager 5 until the end of the Extended Support period, which ends September 30, 2026. - Evaluate your long-term DevOps strategy and consider transitioning to Pega Cloud 3 to take full advantage of the Deployment Manager service and its latest features.

It looks like a short-term decision. Does this mean that as on-premise users, we don’t have any option besides using PDM as a service?

@LiL95470 We will continue to support Deployment Manager for self managed setups. Please see Support policy for Deployment Manager - CMC We will not make any major changes to this version however support any critical required updates and minor asks.
