DCO is a way of working that helps to bring business and IT together. It helps teams collaborate effectively; to visually capture ideas, so that everyone is having the right conversation, and puts the application you are configuring at the center of that conversation.

The key to DCO is getting close to the application, so that the business can see what the end product will look like. Then they can provide much higher quality feedback, because they have a much better idea of what it is needed to make the application sing.
