We have reviewed the available date display formats in the Pega Constellation UI Date control. Currently, the date can be displayed in the following format:
October 24, 2026
We would like to display the day of the week along with the date and year, as shown below:
Saturday, October 24, 2026
Is it possible to configure the Pega Constellation Date control to display the day of the week in addition to the date and year?
We have explored the available date format options but could not find a configuration to achieve this. Is there any supported configuration or recommended approach to accomplish this in Constellation?
If this is required only for display purposes, you can achieve it using either a Declare Expression or a Data Transform in Pega.
Create a text property and use the pxFormatDateOnly function to format the date as Saturday, October 24, 2026, including the day of the week, month, date, and year.
You can configure this logic in a Declare Expression or a Data Transform, depending on your use case.
Please refer to the images below for the configuration details.
We had the same requirement and ended up using the declare expression/data transform to set the formatted date on a text property (with the desired format displayed on UI) using the expression mentioned by Rohit.
However, you may have challenges in some areas by using that approach.
Curious to know -
Do you have any reports where you need the date to be displayed in this format? or is it only views?
Do you need localization on the UI where this format is to be used?
We have a lot of formats OOTB but this is not one I have raised feedback for you (FDBK-148368) and will talk to our product team about including this in future.
