Q1. Will Deployment Manager as a Service get granular role privileges? One client wants developers to have abort functionality, which existed in the standalone version.
Answer: Pega has standardized the controls and groups in Deployment Manager as a Service. You can see all available roles in My Pega and map your users to them in Deployment Manager. The standard roles are Deployment Specialist, Project Admin, Application Admin, Deployment Admin, Developer and the newly added Read-only user, which gives view-only access for compliance audits and management oversight. Because My Pega handles authentication and authorization behind the scenes, you do not have to configure and store roles in Deployment Manager as you did in Deployment Manager 5. You can also use your own identity provider and bring users from your own domain. Pega is open to adding more roles and permissions, but needs to know what is missing. Satya offered to put interested clients in touch with the specialist team.
Your turn: If you have a use case like this one, please start a thread on Pega Community and explain your requirements, so the product team can review and prioritize them.
Q2. PDC lets us follow cases, but there is no way to see all the cases we follow. Is that on the roadmap?
Answer: Yes. Pega is planning a much better version of this. The aim is to create actionable insights that prevent system degradation or downtime. The data needs to be in one place for the team, so that actions can be assigned to team members. The data should be relevant to each customer’s context, and you will be able to edit thresholds. No release date was given.
Q3. Are there plans to add MCP support to Deployment Manager or PDC?
Answer: MCP is not on the roadmap for this year. Satya wants to evaluate it and put it on the roadmap for next year, and he can see use cases where it would help clients. He invited interested clients to contact him and his team to discuss scenarios in detail, using the same lighthouse approach discussed earlier in the session. One practical thought from the discussion was that an agent checking PDC for errors during builds has clear value. Fully autonomous agent deployments through Deployment Manager call for more caution.
