Multi Select / combo Box dropdown from the source as external API in 23 constellation version

We have a requirement where user need to select multiple values from the dropdown in 23 constellation version. The source of the dropdown is the Connect Rest API. We are receiving it in the form of list. How we can do with setting up the data in data type.

A similar post was created a while ago. However this is in v25 and it should work for 24.2

Has anyone used Multi Select combo box for fetching the data from API, without managing the data locally? Considering the data will be unique for every case type, and may change in future as per the user journey

Having said that, I have not tried this in v23 but worth giving a shot at it.
