Forgot the password on an Application rule

Hi team,

I have an application rule with Security tab enabled with Password protected. And i have forgotten the password.

i tried to write an activity to update the password and password protected to false.

But unfortunately it’s not updating.

Please help me to recover the password?

The password is encrypted using bcrypt, so you won’t be able to recover the password.

@RajaKullaiahD16662217 You can remove the password and again set a new password. Found a way to remove the app password but not sure if it okay to post it here.

Use an activity to

  1. Open the application rule instance.
  2. Set pyPassword and pyConfirmPassword to “”
  3. Set pyIsSecured and pyLocalized to falser
  4. Obj-Save the application rule page.

From Security side, we recommend not to publicly expose the details of workarounds using methods using activities. This documentation does not exist externally.

Yes, but we have another way, and that is the easiest way. (We have to Private Edit one OOTB Activity Rule and One Step Comment Out in the Activity)
