We are planning to use the Document Content Engine component available on the Pega Marketplace for applications running on Pega Platform 25.x or 26.x. We have the following questions and observations regarding its compatibility, support, and long-term availability:
In the “Compatible With” section of the Pega Marketplace listing, we noticed that the latest Pega Platform versions, such as 25.x and 26.x, are not currently mentioned. Could you please confirm whether the component is compatible with these versions and, if so, whether the compatibility information can be updated accordingly?
If we adopt this component for production-grade Pega applications, will it continue to receive regular maintenance, incremental enhancements, bug fixes, and compatibility updates for future Pega Platform releases?
Is there any possibility that this component could be deprecated or discontinued in the future? Since we are considering it for long-term use in production applications, we would like to understand the expected product lifecycle and support strategy.
Does the Document Content Engine support the generation of Microsoft Word documents, specifically .doc and .docx formats? If not currently supported, is Word document generation planned for a future release?
We would appreciate your clarification on the above points to help us evaluate the component for adoption in our production applications.

Pega Platform 25.x and 26.x Compatibility
I can confirm that the DCE is compatible with Pega Platform 25.x. While I haven’t tested on 26.x yet, I have not received any reports of any regression issues so far. I am planning to perform a regression test on 26.x in the next couple of weeks and will update you here when this is done. Listing Update: Thank you for pointing this out. I will be asking Marketplace to include 25.x and 26.x in the compatibility matrix, once I have tested on 26.x.
Maintenance and Incremental Enhancements
Pega Marketplace solutions are not covered by Pegasystems’ standard product support or warranties. However, I am committed to the DCEs long-term viability and I do address reported issues, although I cannot commit to any specific SLA. Please see Pega Marketplace terms here for more details:
Please be aware, that you can also fix any issues or even extend the solution for your specific needs if required. It has been designed with custom extensibility in mind and many customers have done so. Please see the DCE User Guide for more details on how this can be achieved:
Component Lifecycle & Deprecation Risk
There are no plans to deprecate or discontinue the DCE or the features within the Pega Platform on which the DCE depends. Again, I encourage you to refer to the Pega Marketplace terms for more details. I also encourage you to take a look at the DCE User Guide for more details on the dependent features.
Microsoft Word Document Generation Support
The DCE does not currently support the generation of Microsoft Word document formats, but it’s on my roadmap to investigate as a possible enhancement. Again, it’s worth mentioning that the DCE has been designed with custom extensibility in mind. If you decide to go down this route, then please feel free to share your ideas and I will be happy to review.
In the meantime, I recommend leveraging Pega Platform’s native Word template generation features, or using a dedicated document assembly API suited for Word Document generation.
We’re using Document content Engine on 25.1.3 platform version and it works fine. We’re generating a PDF document as part of the use case.
