We have created a Tool rule (an instance of Rule-AI-Tool) with example phrases and configured it to execute a Data Page. In the AI Assistant, we provided the configured phrases and attempted to retrieve the information exposed through the tool. However, the AI Assistant is unable to execute the Data Page and returns the following limitation:
“run-data-page tool is not available in this session.”
We are currently using a Pega Lab instance that is connected to the default Pega AI model. This functionality was working previously, but recently we started encountering this limitation when attempting to execute Data Pages through the AI Assistant.
Has anyone experienced a similar issue or come across any changes related to this behavior? Any insights or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Hello @RUWANRDJ1 can you possibly provided exact version of Pega , as well as a screen shot of the agent tool action tab , and where the agent calls it . I can take a look for sure.
Thanks for checking this. We are using Pega Infinity '26.1. The same limitation is given even if we try to execute data page via AI assistant directly. Basically, which not related to AI tool rule, but it’s not able to execute the data page (We were able to execute data pages in AI Assistant earlier)
@RUWANRDJ1 Just so I am clear, you are trying to run a configured pega Tool rule via the new Pega AI Assistant for authoring. Or are you trying to run the Tool rule via a Pega Run Time Agent. And if the former, what is the goal in the context of the AI Assistant, to get data into the development context window ?
