Cannot log into Pega Platform

I cannot log into pega platform after i downloaded it onto my work laptop. I can however log into pega online but onto the downloaded application.

@WilsonK3 please clarify what you mean when you say “.. after i downloaded it onto my work laptop”.

Are you referring to a Pega Community Edition install? Is this a Pega Trial VM issue ?

If you downloaded the personal edition

Please below credentials

UserName: [email protected]

Password: install ( all small letters)

Note: User name is not case sensitive and password is case sensitive.

I hope this will help you.

and for the community edition not required to enter the user id and password, it will login based SSO

@WilsonK3 I have three icons for pega on my desktop. I am learning to use Pega. I have “Pega Platform Startup”, “Pega platform shutdown” and “Pega platform login”

I was instructed to run “pega platform startup” first, then “pega platform login” afterwards. But when I do, it wont log me into Pega an says “The information you entered was not recognized.” i know the username and password are correct but I cannot figure out what might be the problem.

Have you seen any errors in the error tab during installation?

Please download and install pgadmin4 and later install the personal edition, it will for work you.

@WilsonK3 What is the Operating system version you installed PE on?

See the Platform Support Guide for a list of OS versions supported. (If you are using an old version of Personal Edition then it will not be supported on OS Windows 10 for example).

Did you check the log files? It may show you that a classloader is not started.

Please check your config file. You should use the admin password you specified in the setupDatabase.properties file as the password for [email protected]. System will ask you to create a new password during login.

Starting Personal Edition is a two step process - one to start tomcat and other to start postgres. And Startup shortcut on your desktop (generally named ‘PRPC 71x Startup’) points to a script, which will run both.

Also please note that Personal Edition has been retired.
