Book Review - The Coming Wave

I recently finished The Coming Wave by Mustafa Suleyman. The message that stuck with me: as AI accelerates, the hardest part won’t be building capability — it’ll be containing it with governance, accountability, and trust.

Suleyman argues that powerful AI will inevitably spread faster than regulation can keep up. The real risk isn’t AI itself, but deploying it without guardrails, accountability, and trust.

That’s why this book feels highly relevant for an enterprise platforms like @Pega. The future isn’t about raw AI capability—it’s about governed decisioning, transparent automation, and embedding AI into controlled, auditable workflows with humans in the loop.

A timely read for anyone working on enterprise AI, transformation, or responsible adoption.

Interesting to hear, resonates very well with Pega’s positioning regarding combining e.g Agentic AI/GenAI with the predictability of workflows. Also key regarding “humans in the loop” and how this enables to comply with the AI Act.
