Add a FieldValue to Translated RuleSet

Hi,

I have a sandbox application (MyApp), the purpose is to learn how to manage Localization. So I added a english translation ruleset through academic way ( Configure >…> Translate to new language, Configure > Translation in progress).

It is working well,

  • EN users se EN labels (MyApp_en)
  • Other users (for example FR) see base labels (MyApp)

Through DevStudio, I would like to add new EN translations (for some labels/properties). But, when I try to add a FieldValue, the “Add to ruleset” field only shows MyApp and MyAppInt. MyApp_en is not showing. How to manage that ?

My failed Attempt:

I added MyApp_en to rulesetstack of application “MyApp”, I was able to add new EN translations because “Add to ruleset” showed “MyApp_en”. But during testing, I see that all people (FR,EN) was seeing EN labels. I had to remove MyApp_en from rulesetstack, and then all was working correctly and also the new labels works. But, I am questionning about how to add EN translation without add/remove MyApp_en to rulesetstack ?

@EricMyApp . Hello Eric,

For translating work, it’s more convenient to create a dedicated app on top of your main app. In this dedicated app, place all your translation ruleset (like MyApp_fr, MyApp_en).

Every time you have a translate to create/update, switch to that new app.

Once every translation are validated, don’t forget to include them in a product.
