SharePoint Integration with Knowledge Buddy (Lab instance)

Hi Team,

I have configured the SharePoint integration with Knowledge Buddy in our lab instance. I have followed all the configuration steps given in the documentation, still the data is not reading from the SharePoint. Do we require knowledge buddy licensed version to work on lab instance?

Can anyone help me with issue, and let me know what are all the configuration required for the SharePoint Integration an dhow do we map the data to Knowledge Buddy.

Regards,

@Mamatha Adiraju please carry out a PSC key word search - other users of Lab instances have asked the same question.

From the SME:

"I am guessing you are not licensed for Knowledge Buddy. If you are licensed then you will be provisioned with a vector store service which is a requirement for using Buddy. If you are licensed, please file a ticket with support. Note: Buddy ONLY works on a Cloud-3 instance. There is no other place to install a buddy and have it supported. "

For the SharePoint integration configuration, here are the key steps to ensure proper setup:

  1. Implementation Application Setup:
    • Create an implementation application on top of the Pega Knowledge Loader application
    • This serves as the foundation for your SharePoint integration
  2. Authentication Configuration:
    • Set up the KnowledgeBuddy-OAuth-DataUser Authentication Profile
    • This profile is crucial for indexing documents into Knowledge Buddy
    • Ensure proper SharePoint Active Directory (AD) security settings
  3. SharePoint Loader Configuration:
    • Create a dedicated SharePoint Loader for each SharePoint site you want to integrate
    • Define the specific SharePoint site, folders, and files to ingest
    • If you need to retrieve content from different folders into separate data sources or collections, create separate SharePoint Loaders for each
  4. Data Mapping:
    • Update the configuration file for the Knowledge Loader with the correct properties
    • Specify the data source, collection, and SharePoint site details
    • Ensure all paths and permissions are correctly set
  5. Job Scheduler Setup:
    • Enable and configure job schedulers to manage the ingestion process
    • This ensures regular and automated content updates

Since you mentioned that you’ve followed all the documentation steps but still can’t read data from SharePoint, I’d recommend double-checking:

  • The authentication profile settings
  • SharePoint site permissions and access rights
  • The configuration of your SharePoint Loader
  • The job scheduler status
